Interior Decorating ... Our Way

I admit it.  If the TV is on at our house, it's probably on HGTV.  Cheryl and I enjoy watching House Hunters, Property Virgins, and Property Brothers.  Living in our third straight two bedroom apartment, it's fun to fantasize about actually buying a house someday - maybe in our thirties.  If anybody in any of those programs saw the inside of our apartment, however, they would puke!

Today after freezing my buns off on a very unsuccessful duck hunt, I finally installed the new kayak rack in the bedroom and got the kayak put away.  Now our bedroom is awesome!  Nothing accents a new, incredibly comfortable Cal-King bed than a kayak, a bag full of decoys, suitcases that don't fit anywhere else, and bedding that doesn't fit the bed!  Our room is awesome!  I sleep like a baby.  (Which after having a baby, I realize is a horrible phrase because babies don't sleep very well at all!)
Crummy picture - Awesome room.  If anyone needs decorating advice I
would love to help.
Most importantly, the house flows well.  Look how well it coordinates with our living room, complete with file storage, an ancient computer, fly tying desk, archaic TV, and road bikes.  Interior decorating, it's something Cheryl and I pride ourselves in!  You don't even want to see the C-ster's room.
Posh, contemporary, stylish - not words that would define our style.
But let's face it, fly fishing and cycling are more important to us than those things!

  1. Awesome indeed. I had a kayak on the floor of my bedroom for the better part of last year. I found the cockpit to be a fine place to dump clean laundry... or dirty laundry... whichever you prefer. I finally got tired of tripping over it and installed some hooks on the back of the house. There are two hangers in my carport as well. Maybe I have too many kayaks?

  2. Ah yes the kayak in the bedroom. At least y'alls is on the wall, like Jay said, the floor is not a great place. Just think of it as functional art. Whatever works right.
